Drive for Dyslexia
Since 2007 Brighton Athletics has hosted Drive for Dyslexia, an annual golf tournament that supports a wide variety of needs across campus. Typically held in the spring, the event is a four man scramble, 18 hole tournament which includes raffle items, silent auctions, door prizes, and on-course games.
Since its inception, proceeds from the Drive for Dyslexia have supported campus improvements such as air conditioning in the gym, new bleachers, and court curtain dividers. Our latest initiative is to purchase transportation to expand off-campus academic, athletic, and recreational opportunities for our students. Golfers in the greater capital area can form a team and sign up to play. In addition, sponsorship opportunities are available for both individuals and businesses.
We are a school that is dedicated to students who have dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. We believe that ALL students can learn. It’s a matter of how the instruction is given and the support that is available to push students to their potential.
