Cross Country Coach
Job Title: Cross Country Head Coach (MS/HS)
Position Type: Part-Time
Job Summary
The Brighton School is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Cross Country Head Coach to lead our cross country program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing student-athletes both competitively and personally while building a positive, disciplined, and team-oriented program.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead daily practices, conditioning sessions, and team workouts.
- Develop training programs appropriate for athletes of varying abilities and experience levels.
- Organize and manage participation in meets, competitions, and postseason events.
- Teach proper running technique, conditioning, nutrition, sportsmanship, and injury-prevention practices.
- Recruit and retain student-athletes and promote participation in the program.
- Establish a positive team culture based on commitment, accountability, respect, and teamwork.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school administrators, and assistant coaches.
- Maintain accurate team records and ensure compliance with school and athletic-association policies.
- Coordinate with athletic trainers and other school personnel regarding athlete health and safety.
- Supervise athletes during practices, competitions, travel, and other team activities.
- Support the academic success and overall development of student-athletes.
Qualifications
- Previous cross country coaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of distance running, conditioning, and training principles.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate and develop athletes of different skill levels.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, coaches, and school personnel.
- CPR/AED and first-aid certification preferred or required before beginning the season.
- Must meet all school and state athletic-association coaching requirements.

Music Teacher
Job Title: K-12 Music Teacher (Vocal Emphasis)
Position Type: Part-Time
Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate, part-time K-12 Music Teacher to lead our vocal-focused music program. You will inspire students through singing, music theory, and introductory instrumentation. This position is ideal for an educator or retired educator who excels in choral direction and creative, resourceful classroom music instruction. Please note that our campus does not feature a traditional band or orchestral program due to space and budget configurations.
Key Responsibilities
- Vocal Direction: Lead engaging vocal music instruction and choir programs across all grade levels (K-12).
- General Music: Teach foundational music theory, rhythm, and notation to elementary and middle school students.
- Introductory Instruments: Introduce students to basic melody and rhythm using recorders, handbells, and auxiliary percussion.
- Performance Coordination: Organize and direct school concerts, seasonal showcases, and community performances.
- Curriculum Design: Develop a creative music curriculum that maximizes our specific resources and vocal focus.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Vocal Performance, or a related field required.
- Certification: Valid State Teaching Certification in Music (K-12 preferred).
- Skills: Excellent choral conducting skills and piano accompaniment skills preferred
- Experience: Prior experience teaching multiple age groups is highly valued.
