Whitley moved to Louisiana and joined our elementary staff in 2022 as a 4th grade teacher. In the classroom, Whitley enjoyed seeing students’ curiosity around their learning, was inspired by unique student strengths, and especially loved celebrating academic and social growth. After starting her own family, Whitley transitioned from the classroom and began handling Brighton's Marketing and Communications. She appreciates having a key role in keeping families informed and sharing the schools' success to the greater community. Prior to her time at Brighton, Whitley taught Kindergarten, 4th grade, and worked as a special education behavioral associate where she valued working one-on-one with a student and advocating for specific student needs. She also brings experience and skills from six years as a front office executive and office assistant at a university department of curriculum & instruction, a center for reading research, and a law office.

We are a school that is dedicated to students who have dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. We believe that ALL students can learn. It’s a matter of how the instruction is given and the support that is available to push students to their potential.
