Cristal Thomas graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with BA in Music Performance and went on to Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY to finish her Masters in Vocal Performance and flute minor.
After returning from her performances on Broadway, Cristal began working for the Diocese of Baton Rouge as a music teacher for various schools in the Baton Rouge area before settling at Our Lady of Mercy where she served as a music teacher and Director of Music for 13 years. As conductor of all choirs, she has experience working with voices of all ages and also conducting various instrumental String and Brass quartets for many concerts and events throughout the Baton Rouge area.
Although continuing to perform throughout the Louisiana area as a vocalist, Cristal spends most of her time teaching children piano and vocal music in her private studio where she coaches young children, high school students, and college students preparing for concerts and performances throughout the area.

We are a school that is dedicated to students who have dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. We believe that ALL students can learn. It’s a matter of how the instruction is given and the support that is available to push students to their potential.
