Sara Johnston, BGS
3rd Grade
Bachelor of General Studies, Human Sciences Minor, Psychology and Buisness Concentration : Southeastern Louisiana University
Sara’s passion for supporting students with dyslexia began in 2022, when her own daughter received a diagnosis. That same year, both Sara and her daughter became part of the Brighton family. If you’ve spent any time on campus, you’ve likely been greeted by Sara’s warm smile in a variety of roles. She has served Brighton as a permanent guest teacher, an administrative assistant, and now as a third-grade classroom teacher. An energetic educator at heart, Sara brings dedication, empathy, and determination to helping children who face learning challenges. Sara is currently working on her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction with a Special Education Leadership Concentration at LSUS and will be finished in October. She is excited to share her new ideas and strategies with her students, helping them grow and thrive!
We are a school that is dedicated to students who have dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. We believe that ALL students can learn. It’s a matter of how the instruction is given and the support that is available to push students to their potential.
