Darren has been a wonderful member of the Brighton team in so many ways since 2017.  His background is diverse and as such, he brings a wide-ranging skillset into the school.  Darren is a United States Air Force veteran.  During his time in the service, he received the John Levitow Award, the highest award in education in the Air Force.  Following his time serving his country, Darren obtained several credentials including, being a licensed Class 2 Water and Wastewater Operator and a Certified MS4 Operator.  Most recently, Darren completed the requirements to be a licensed Emergency Medical Responder. Since 2008, Darren has served as Commissioner for Fire District #4 in Livingston Parish.  In addition to these accomplishments, Darren holds 32 years of experience in maintenance and construction.  Darren currently serves The Brighton School as Director of Facilities of Maintenance, Asbestos Manager, and Co-Director of Student Affairs.  Not only does Darren ensure campus facilities are in tip-top shape, he also teaches an Industrial Arts class and a Bible class.  Darren sees the best in each of the school’s students and seeks ways to connect with them individually.
 

We are a school that is dedicated to students who have dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. We believe that ALL students can learn. It’s a matter of how the instruction is given and the support that is available to push students to their potential.
