Cherrino Nelson has been teaching English for over 20 years in the parishes of St. James, Ascension, and East Baton Rouge. Mrs. Nelson has a bachelor’s degree in English Education from Southern University and a master’s degree in Adult Education from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La. She wholeheartedly believes that every child can learn and achieve greatness when given appropriate motivation and instruction. She firmly believes that students should be able to learn from their mistakes and feel supported in the classroom and beyond. Mrs. Nelson plans to create a learning environment in her class that promotes respect, responsibility, dedication, and effort.
 

We are a school that is dedicated to students who have dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. We believe that ALL students can learn. It’s a matter of how the instruction is given and the support that is available to push students to their potential.
