We are proud to recognize Mr. Davis for presenting his scholarly work at the Cormac McCarthy Society Conference in Knoxville this month!

After having his work accepted for presentation, Mr. Davis traveled to Knoxville, TN to present his paper, “The Truth is Always Simple: Comprehension Strategies and Supplementary Texts for Teaching Cormac McCarthy’s All the Pretty Horses and No Country for Old Men in the High School Classroom,” Presenting at a scholarly conference is a meaningful achievement, reflecting both a commitment to continued professional growth and a genuine passion for the subject of literature. Mr. Davis’s work is especially noteworthy because it connects his academic interests directly to his classroom practice and the experiences of his students.

Mr. Davis is continually seeking ways to challenge his students, broaden their perspectives, and expand their literary horizons. He believes that great literature can invite students to think more deeply, encounter new ideas, and see the world from perspectives different from their own. His dedication to introducing students to meaningful and thought-provoking works is evident in both his teaching and his scholarship.

His conference presentation demonstrates the same curiosity and enthusiasm that he brings to the classroom each day. By continuing to study, learn, and share his work with other educators and scholars, Mr. Davis models the importance of being a lifelong learner—and shows his students that learning does not end when the school day does.

Congratulations to Mr. Davis on this well-deserved achievement! We are grateful for his dedication to his students, his craft, and the transformative power of literature.
