Before starting her teaching career, Whitley worked as a special education behavioral associate where she valued working one-on-one with a student and advocating for specific student needs. After earning her master’s degree, Whitley taught kindergarten and fourth grade in the state of Iowa. She and her family recently relocated to Louisiana where she decided to join the Brighton team. Whitley enjoys seeing students’ curiosity around their learning, is inspired by their unique talents and especially loves looking back on the areas of growth.
We are a school that is dedicated to students who have dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. We believe that ALL students can learn. It’s a matter of how the instruction is given and the support that is available to push students to their potential.
