Ginger Picard

My name is Ginger Picard. My son Jake is a 12th grade student at The Brighton School. Originally a native of Plaquemine, I moved to my husband’s hometown of Livonia where we now reside. My husband, Jason and I also have a daughter, Meghan who is a sophomore at LSU. Prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom 19 years ago, I served as an Executive Secretary for 20 years for the State of Louisiana. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, gardening, decorating and cheering Jake on at his swim meets. We are currently in our 5th school year at The Brighton School. The academic and social growth that The Brighton School has provided to my son had immensely changed the path to his future. Witnessing Jake thrive at this school and being Jake’s biggest advocate for the past 15 years, motivated me to want to serve as a Board of Directors’ Member. Since May 2019, I have served on the board witnessing an incredible team working together, learning together and respecting together. I am so honored to be a part of this team.

We are a school that is dedicated to students who have dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. We believe that ALL students can learn. It’s a matter of how the instruction is given and the support that is available to push students to their potential.
