Lauren has been an educator for nearly six years. While she completed her education at Ashford, she served as a classroom paraprofessional for three years. Upon graduation, Lauren accepted a position as a middle school history teacher in Livonia, Louisiana. There she taught seventh and eighth grade students. Lauren left the classroom briefly to create curriculum for many of Louisiana’s historical sites. In October of 2019, Lauren joined Brighton as their high school English teacher knowing well that teaching history is also teaching reading, writing and critical thinking. Lauren believes teaching is the most rewarding career because it is the only career helps to expand a child’s mind while watching their love for learning grow. She is passionate about her students leaving her with more knowledge than they had before. Lauren truly believes that the love of learning creates a well-rounded student and individual.
